Required salary levels in 2022
There are three main requirements for the 30% ruling in the Netherlands. One of them is the required salary level. Your employee’s salary will have to meet this required salary level on a yearly basis in order to stay eligible for the 30% ruling. The yearly salary level for 2022 is € 39.467 (in 2021 this was € 38.961) in most cases.
Does your employee have a master degree and is she/he younger than 30 years? Then the salary has to be minimally € 30.001 per year (was € 29.616 in 2021).
Your employee’s salary level must always meet the salary requirement.
Other requirements for the 30% ruling
Apart from the required salary level there are two other main requirements:
- Being recruited from abroad, even if the employee changed employer in the Netherlands she/he originally has to be recruited from abroad.
- Having lived on a distance of more than 150 kilometers in 16 out of 24 months prior to the relocation to the Netherlands.
