The negotiations between the EU and the UK to come to a deal have come in a crucial stage. With just 99 days to go before 2021 starts there is not much time left to conclude a Brexit deal. BBC’s Europe editor Katya Adler says in her article Brexit – so near yet so far away that 90% of the issues have been resolved. Yet the missing 10% is the most important, political rest.
We hope that the negotiators will reach the best outcome for all parties involved. A deal would be the easiest way for UK citizens living in the Netherlands… and for many more things.
Temporary residency permit
Did you move to the Netherlands after August 1, 2020? Or will you move to the Netherlands before December 31, 2020? Or have you lived here for less than five years and somehow did not receive an invitation from the Dutch immigration services IND to submit an application for a temporary residency permit?
Deal or no deal, you will have to submit an application for a Withdrawal Agreement residence permit to continue to live in the Netherlands from 1 January 2021. The end date to do this is on December 31, 2020. Do you want our assistance? We gladly help you!
Permanent residency permit
Have you lived in the Netherlands for more than five years and did not get an invitation of the IND? You will most probably be eligible for a permanent residency permit. Do you want us to help you with the application? You are very much welcome.
Exchange your driving licence
Do you already live in the Netherlands? You still have 99 days until December 31, 2020 to exchange your valid UK driving licence for a Dutch one. After January 1, 2021 and in case of no deal the procedure will be more complex. We gladly assist you with the exchange!
